Every year, millions of Chinese tourists engage in a continuous, year-round « cultural pilgrimage » to Beijing, driven by a deep sense of national identity, historical reverence, and the desire to witness the symbols of China’s imperial past.
This exhibition features a collection of 35 mm photographs taken across the city. The scenes captured focus on the simple moments of tourists exploring the most iconic landmarks of the capital — the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, the Temple of Heaven. Through the experimental technique of cross-processing slide film, the images are transformed into a kaleidoscopic, high-contrast dreamscape. The color aberrations and gritty texture turn iconic, historical settings into surreal vignettes, creating a nostalgic dialogue between the fleeting human experience and the timeless city.
The series features a collection of 21 images. Each work is a strictly limited edition of 12 prints. To ensure the highest archival standards, every sale is produced as a fresh print, individually inspected, signed, and numbered by the artist. Each piece is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity verified with a unique seal.
