I always thought that the laundromats were enigmatic places that convey a feeling of temporariness and solitude.

Plus, the idea that such an intimate and domestic operation like doing laundry takes place in a shop window always troubled me bit.

That’s why I’d like to portray these places and I’m constantly looking for the best way to do so.

This picture was taken in Chausse de Wavre during night, from outside. The lady at the other end of the shop gave me exactly the feelings I mentioned above.
